Season 3 Episode 4
The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community has entered a new age of energy independence, with their partnership in Koda Energy, which broke ground for a clean energy plant that will be fueled by agricultural materials. The plant has the potential to provide enough energy for all of the community’s needs, with power left over to sell. Business Council Chairman, Stanley Crooks, talks about the past, present, and his hopes for the future of the Shakopee Mdewakanton Community. And as stewards of the land the community prepares for that future with innovative land management practices. We’ll also hear from the elders and learn something new this week on Native Report.
